Virgin Group has announced the groundbreaking of the Virgin Hotels New Orleans in the Warehouse District of the Big Easy. The 200-key hotel is slated to debut in 2021 with a structure crafted by CallisonRTKL Architects and local practice Mathes Brierre Architects.
Locally based firm Logan Killen Interiors will infuse a residential-style Southern flair across the hotel’s interiors while also integrating colorful, even tropical architectural motifs reflective of the Virgin brand. Social areas from the rooftop pool deck to the Jazz Age-inspired Commons Club will be conceived to inspire curiosity and exploration. In addition to a fitness center, and meeting and events spaces, the Funny Library Coffee Shop will also be featured onsite .
