Nashville-based Wellengood Partners has completed the $5 million redesign of the Westin Memphis Beale Street. The refresh expresses a new sense of contemporary elegance as well as thoughtful allusions to Memphis style in both private and public spaces. “Memphis is filled with passionate, creative, organic individuals,” says Wellengood CEO Glenn Malone. “The life and heart of the city were carefully infused into every element of this design refresh. Curative organic shapes and soft colors contrast the two personalities of the city.”
Tranquility pervades the updated interiors—from the color palette to the reconfigured lobby, which now hosts a coworking area. Warm tones and metal accents subtly reflect local music history along with drumstick chandeliers and patterns. Sleek modern furnishings promote comfort in the property’s 203 guestrooms, alongside newly installed carpeting and drapery. Furthermore, the hotel’s ballrooms, which can accommodate up to 300 people, were upgrade with new wallpaper, furniture, and carpets.
“Our main goal is for guests to feel at home and at peace,” Malone adds. “That is why we made it a priority for this design refresh to help elevate a feeling of harmonious tranquility throughout the hotel.”
