The Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City in Utah has emerged from a four-month renovation.
Housed in the city’s Continental Bank building, built in 1928, the revitalized property honors its history, both architecturally and geologically, while ushering in a new era.
Spreadheaded by Los Angeles-based design firm Beleco, the interiors feature rich leathers and plush textures that create a welcoming kickoff point for outdoor adventures among the area’s natural wonders.
Refreshed guestrooms feature a neutral palette of gray, blue, cream, and white that gracefully weaves together the region’s rich geological history and natural elements. Salt crystal-inspired light fixtures and décor that mirror the Great Salt Lake are paired with an eclectic collection of local artwork.
The modernity of the guestrooms flows into both onsite F&B concepts, including Bambara led by chef Patrick LeBeau. Boasting an upscale-yet-inviting ambiance, the refreshed restaurant sports a chic black and white palette and wood tables.
Next door, the Vault—a nod to the building’s past life as a bank—is an intimate, modern lounge that exudes a moody, seductive atmosphere thanks to a rich oak and natural stone bar and soft lounge seating set against a deep midnight blue backdrop.
