The Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise (TOGE) has selected Hnedak Bobo Group (HBG) as the lead architect firm for designing the Tohono O’odham Nation’s new West Valley Resort near Peoria and Glendale, Arizoma. The $500 million project, built without taxpayer dollars, will offer more than 6,000 construction jobs and 3,000 permanent jobs when completed.
HBG designed the initial renderings for the project, which was announced in January 2009, and will work closely with TOGE to design and finalize all site plans. The high-end resort will compress a hotel, casino, and other elements yet to be announced.
"Throughout this process it has been very clear that the Tohono O’odham Nation is committed to creating a high-quality, integrated destination resort that will have lasting drawing power for the region by bringing a diverse group of people here for business and entertainment," says Greg Hnedak, founding partner of HBG. "Our goal is to deliver a project that is both an economic success and one in which the entire community can take pride."
