Minimalist architecture and carefully considered amenities define Nereidas’ first hospitality venture

Nereidas has debuted its first flagship property within the rural desert landscape of Baja California, Mexico.

Located 10 minutes from the historic town of Todos Santos, Casa Langosta spans a two acre plot and boasts panoramic views of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

Architectural minimalism in Baja California

Designed by architect Raquel Font of studiofont, the residence showcases structural truth and material simplicity through a modern Mexican design lens.

Architecture embraces the splendor of the desert, with its bold volumes and geometric forms made from raw materials like rustic pink concrete.

The three distinct bedrooms feature triangular outlines with open angles and curved walls that naturally enhance ventilation. Built-in furniture, such as custom beds and closets, ensures a coherent aesthetic, while floor-to-ceiling windows frame the inimitable sculptural landscape outside.

Bespoke interiors at Casa Langosta

Complementing the architecture, the interior design by Niños Heroes transforms the residence with carefully curated objects. The design team sourced artisanal pieces—including original Don Shoemaker lounge chairs, a single-edition Silla Tropical chair by Fabien Cappello, and dining chairs by Oscar Hagerman—that are distinct in material and origin.

The lighting program is equally refined, complete with lamps by Jasper Morrison, the iconic Cesta by Miguel Milá, and bespoke fiberglass creations by emerging design studio Sardina. Moroccan rugs and ceramics sourced from Tangier add layers of texture, while a collection of vintage books on art, poetry, and Mexican folk traditions infuses the living spaces with profound cultural richness.

Elevated amenities

Casa Langosta intertwines the commodities of a five-star hotel with the intimacy of a private home. The shared facilities are optimized for open-space living, centered around a cylindrical volume that hosts a 1,937-square-foot swimming pool.

This space is extended by a concrete structure offering longitudinal views of the desert and ocean. Guests can gather in the dining area, which features a custom-made grill or relax in the fireplace lounge adorned with two-level platforms integrated into the landscape.

Sustainable desert design

Ensuring the infrastructure respects its environment, Casa Langosta was developed with a durable, eco-conscious approach. The entire structure is powered by solar energy, supported by a comprehensive water reuse system.

Furthermore, every plant moved during the construction phase was meticulously replanted to preserve the endemic flora and maintain the untouched land of the surrounding coastal desert.
