Restaurant and lounge Obica has debuted in Adliya, Bahrain, with interiors that blend palatial elegance and theatrical drama.
Designed by Qreative Design, Obica draws inspiration from “a blend of palaces and theaters, two of my favorite spaces that embody grandeur, elegance, and drama,” says the studio’s founder Mohamed Al Qari. “These influences shaped the opulent materials, rich color palette, and attention to detail in the design.”
The design also takes cues from private members clubs in London and other cosmopolitan cities to infuse the space with an sense of exclusivity and refinement.
Obica’s luxe details
At the heart of the main dining room, a dramatic chandelier comprising 78,000 mother-of-pearl shells cascades from above, illuminating walls clad in reflective hexagonal mirrors.
A palette of deep burgundy, emerald green, and gold furthers a sense of luxury and intimacy, while scenic wallpapers depicting Bahrain’s historic landscapes pay homage to the country’s past. A 19th-century English mirror adds to the layered, old-world aesthetic as well.
Materials and textures play a key role in shaping the ambiance—plush velvet upholstery, brass and gold finishes, and warm wood accents create a balance of richness and warmth.
