New York-based Float Studio has unveiled its vision for office environments adapted for COVID-19. Exemplified in the recently completed buildout for the Manhattan offices of global growth equity firm 3L, the new concept promotes social distancing while also conveying a residential-style warmth reinforced by natural elements. The open floorplan is punctuated by abundant greenery and natural materials to support mental health and alleviate heavy digital workloads. Tonal whites and light wood elements add richness to the palette along with walnut shelving, sisal carpeting, and grasscloth wallpaper. Custom workstations are positioned six feet apart on all sides, while personal lockers are incorporated into shelving so that employees can keep their personal belongings off their desks. In addition to flexible breakout spaces and common areas, the residential-style layout includes closed breakout rooms equipped with acoustic support for video conferencing and phone calls.
