The Uncommoner Hotel
The details: For the Uncommoner Hotel in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts, Studio 59 East collaborated with DAC Art Consulting on an art program centered around its lobby, where a mix of curated prints and vintage pieces reflect the hotel’s spirit as a destination shaped by travelers, dreamers, and cultural influences reminiscent of Marseille. “The collection is intentionally eclectic, and that sense of character mirrors the design as a whole, giving each piece room to feel meaningful and part of a larger story,” points out DAC Art Consulting president Cheryl Heisterberg. The standout moment is the gallery wall, a vibrant arrangement of varied materials and subjects that captures the hotel’s spirit of exploration. Guests are often drawn in by details like the vintage photograph of a lone rider raising his hat toward the mountains. It’s a poetic, nostalgic image that embodies curiosity, openness, and a wandering spirit.
