The 215-room 1 Hotel Nashville opened this year, alongside its San Francisco sibling, as a design tour de force that highlights what the sustainably minded brand does best: a layered aesthetic that shines a spotlight on local craftsmanship. With nature as a muse, the property celebrates Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains and the Cumberland River Valley with elements like reclaimed wood; a reception desk formed from water-worn boulders; and the 800-foot-high ivy façade that generates oxygen and regulates the building’s temperature in addition to enhancing its curb appeal.
