Studio Aisslinger Redesigns 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin

The Berlin-based studio revisits its original concept with an inviting, analog-infused refresh

More than 10 years after its debut, the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin has unveiled a redesign by locally based Studio Aisslinger, which also executed the hotel’s original concept.

Studio Aisslinger’s new vision leans into contrast: the Brutalist shell of the building is juxtaposed by inviting layers of texture and warmth. Innovative textiles are paired with natural, upcycled materials—brick, cork, and rattan—while mirrored surfaces bounce reflections of the city and park back into the interiors.

All 22 Large Urban and Large Jungle rooms were completely reimagined.

In a notable spatial shift, the beds now anchor the center of the room, oriented to frame sweeping views of the Tiergarten or City West. A new built-in library is now housed in a warm wood capsule, offering a cozy, analog retreat that encourages reading and unplugging.

The Medium Rooms (Jungle, Urban, and Urban Twin) also underwent a soft renovation. Here, lighting plays a key role, with integrated mirror illumination and new swivel lamps enhancing the rooms’ functionality and ambiance. Bathrooms are equipped with new tilework and warmer lighting, alongside an inventive upcycling collaboration with Kaldewei, with disused bathtubs and shower trays from the hotel refurbished and reinstalled.

Activated public spaces

Updates extend into the public areas, too. Nomad Day Bar now activates the third floor, serving snacks by day before transforming into a wine bar after dark.

The space also functions as a coworking hub for guests and locals alike, with flexible communal tables and lounge zones.
