Kimpton Ashbel New York – Park Avenue has officially opened its doors along one of Manhattan’s most storied avenues.
Part of the IHG luxury and lifestyle portfolio, the hotel breathes new life into a historic building originally constructed in 1928 as the Doral Park Avenue Hotel.
A restored original limestone-clad façade anchors the property in its architectural past, setting the stage for an interior experience that marries classic Manhattan townhouse charm with modern luxury.
Welcome home
Guided by the design vision of Busta Studio, the property feels more like a private home than a traditional hotel, replacing a conventional lobby with a series of interconnected, residential-style spaces.
Guests move naturally through a foyer, living room, and family room that are linked by oversized wood portals that frame preserved architectural columns, original steps, and historic windows.

Tailored guestrooms at Kimpton Ashbel New York
The property features 205 guestrooms, including 14 family-friendly connecting rooms, that are each crafted as calm sanctuaries with tailored elements and generous proportions. Warm woods and soft palettes are layered with curated gold accents, playful flushes of color, and eclectic artwork.
The furnishings, custom-designed exclusively for the hotel, combine refined metal accents with organic textures to give every space its own distinct sense of character.
Spaces to recharge and gather
At the heart of the hotel is the living room, which serves as a gathering space complete with a floating open-space banquette and a library. Just beyond this area sits Park & Bel, a cozy neighborhood café concept that brings the vibrant energy of Park Avenue indoors.
Kimpton Ashbel is rounded out by a curated art program from Soho Art Gallery, comprised of commissioned original mixed-media pieces and complemented by a collection of Assouline and Taschen books.
