The Shandaken Inn, tucked in New York’s Catskills region, has introduced three standalone guest cottages as an extension of its 15 existing guestrooms and suites.
Constructed by Cliff Rabuffo from Catskill Custom Homes, the cottages, spanning more than 1,300 square feet, each feature distinct identities inspired by the region. The Pines Cottage, for example, pays homage to the Pines Resort, while the Fallsview Cottage honors the Fallsview Hotel and Tamarack Cottage is a tribute to the Tamarack Lodge.
“The addition of these cottages is a testament to our unwavering commitment to enhancing the guest experience,” says Jay Jacobs, owner of Shandaken Inn. “They [are] spacious, comfortable, and luxurious accommodations that beautifully honor the rich history and breathtaking landscapes of the region.”
Guided by Jacobs’ creative vision, Alise Yang of AY Designs—the creative force behind the property’s 2019 renovations—crafted the cottages to complement the inn’s modern-meets-rustic décor. Each cottage is imbued with textured wallpaper, custom lighting, and bespoke vanities. The design aesthetic blends neutral palettes with varied shades, and raw textures with tailored finishes to create a cozy-chic atmosphere.
