Southworth, a family-owned developer behind a collection of private clubs and residential communities, is expanding its portfolio with the launch of the Alpine Club, Telluride’s first fully private on-mountain club.
Expected to open for the 2026/2027 ski season, the 26,000-square-foot retreat will sit at San Sophia Station—where downtown Telluride meets Mountain Village via gondola—with 360-degree views of the San Juan Mountains.
Developed in partnership with longtime Telluride residents Scott and Lauren Woodward, the Alpine Club embodies the rugged alpine spirit of the region infused with Southworth’s signature brand of intentional hospitality.
Elevated design with a mountain spirit
Architecture by SALT Architecture and interiors from Pembrooke & Ives will merge the sophistication of modern mountain design with the rustic, untucked character of Telluride.
Aged and patinated metals, weathered woods, and hand-stitched saddle leathers form a tactile palette inspired by the earth tones and textures of the surrounding landscape. This layered materiality and bespoke detailing will evoke a warmth and authenticity that embraces the natural environment.
A private haven at the Alpine Club
At 10,540 feet, the Alpine Club will include exclusive amenities spanning wellness, dining, and outdoor adventure. Members will have access to a full-service spa and wellness center featuring a sauna, steam room, cold plunge, and stretch lab, along with personalized concierge services.
The property will feature dining with an indoor-outdoor après lounge and restaurant with a signature bar, dining room, and chef’s table.
Additional amenities will include a dedicated kids club, private owners’ lockers and changing rooms, and ski and parking valet services. Leisure amenities extend to a golf, gaming, and multi-sport simulator room with a cinema and an expansive great room.
