Hampshire Hotels Management has appointed Eric A. Danziger as president and CEO. Sant Singh Chatwal will remain in his role as the company’s chairman.

Danziger, who has more than 40 years of experience in the hotel business, began his career as a bellman at the Fairmont San Francisco. Following his rise in hotel operations, Danziger assumed his first executive role with Doubletree Hotels in 1984 and went on to serve as president and CEO of Starwood Hotels and Resorts; president and COO of Carlson Hotels Worldwide; and most recently as president and CEO of Wyndham Hotel Group.

Danziger has received numerous industry awards and honors including the Northern California Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in real estate, hospitality, and construction. In 2011, he was the UJA-Federation honoree and in 2012, he received the Arthur Landstreet award from HSMAI.

In his role with Hampshire Hotels Management, Danziger will focus on growing the group’s third-party management and asset management portfolios, in addition to expanding the firm’s proprietary Dream and Night lifestyle brands.

“Built from the ground up by my longtime friend Sant Chatwal, Hampshire Hotels Management has a unique and exciting foundation of fine managed properties that reflect both the ingenuity of its home-grown lifestyle products and a proven management track record in varied tiers of hotels,” says Danziger. “My most enjoyable business experiences have involved growing companies and I have been so very fortunate to have participated in the dynamic growth of Doubletree, Wyndham International, Carlson, Starwood, and Wyndham Hotel Group. I look forward to developing a similar story at Hampshire.”

Danziger begins his new role April 7th.
