Moroso founder Diana Mansutti passes away
Diana Mansutti, cofounder of Italian furniture company Moroso, passed away on March 25th. Mansutti created Moroso in 1952 with her husband Agostino. For more than seven decades, Mansutti led the company with an entrepreneurial vision and perseverance. In a statement, Moroso shares Mansutti’s “curiosity, energy, and determination will remain an indelible memory, as well as her dedication to her company and the affection towards the people that had the privilege to know her.”
Above View celebrates 40 years
Ceiling tile manufacturer Above View is celebrating 40 years of serving the interior design industry. Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Above View has been a source for plaster and glass fiber (GRG) artisan ceiling tiles since 1984, shaping the interiors of casinos, restaurants, stadiums, offices, convention centers, and more. Notable installations include the SoFi Stadium, the MGM Grand Conference Center, and the New York New York Casino. To celebrate its four decades in business, Above View has launched a set of new designs, including Woodland Stripe, a woodgrain textured ceiling tile, shown here in a rendering.
Carl Hansen & Son launches Studio CHS
Following a successful launch in the European market last year, Danish furniture company Carl Hansen & Son is now introducing Studio CHS to the U.S. “With Studio CHS, we are bringing Carl Hansen & Son’s design philosophy and tradition of uncompromising craftsmanship to the contract market,” says Knud Erik Hansen, CEO of Carl Hansen & Son. “We have a long tradition of producing high-quality and timeless designed furniture, and we are continuing this tradition—this time in dedicated partnership with hotels, restaurants, and offices around the world.” With new off-the-shelf furniture collections—including designs from Andreas Kowalewski, Jordan Littler, and Ben Webb—the studio offers clients the opportunity to customize products and even design their own line.
Milliken recognized as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for 2024
Global manufacturer Milliken & Company has been recognized as one of the 2024 World’s Most Ethical Companies, a list curated by Ethisphere that highlights organizations with an exemplary commitment to business integrity through robust ethics, compliance, and governance programs. “By acting with integrity and transparency, we continue our commitment to maintaining our ethical enterprise,” says Kasel Knight, SVP, general counsel, and head of sustainability at Milliken. “From the way we treat our associates to the way we engage in the market, we act for humankind in everything we do.” This year’s recognition marks Milliken’s 18th consecutive appearance on the list.
Momentum launches AI search tool
Momentum Textiles & Wallcovering is diving into the tech revolution with the launch of a new AI text and image search tool, which now live on its website. The tool allows designers to describe via text the style they’re looking for or upload an image, then the AI function will match them with the appropriate Momentum products to bring the vision to life. For instance, a user can upload an image of a coastline where the beach meets the ocean, and the tool will present products that match the image’s color scheme with blue tones, sandy hues, and nautical patterns. The search can also be further refined with Momentum’s existing category filters.
BuzziSpace partners with fashion brand Maison Tricot
Commercial furnishings company BuzziSpace is joining forces with fashion and textile studio Maison Tricot. The partnership brings together BuzziSpace’s expertise in acoustics and Tricot’s mastery of textiles to form a sustainable collection that blends form and function. Launching in June, the collection includes room dividers, seating, and more.
In 2023, Buzzispace underwent a leadership change. The company’s founder and former CEO, Steve Symons, transitioned to Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Tommaso Baldini was appointed CEO and managing director.
