The Gettys Group has restructured its leadership team with several promotions, including Angelica Acebedo-Frint as chief creative officer, Chris McDonough as senior principal, Ryan Schommer as principal of interiors: bespoke, Kara Orth as principal of interiors: prototypical, Anne Hiter as principal of procurement, Matt Swope as chief of staff, James Kokonas as director of AI, and Jillian Kennedy as director of human resources.
NEWH has established the Nikki Jones Memorial Scholarship, funded by a $50,000 bequest from the longtime member. A $10,000 biennial award will honor Jones’ legacy of advancing education and mentorship in hospitality.
Joyce Wang Studio has launched Cabinet Cachet, a London-based sister practice focused on strategy, branding, and marketing for luxury hospitality, retail, and real estate. Recent projects include brand and placemaking strategies for a Chicago members club and a new Hong Kong restaurant concept.
10 Design has appointed Sabrina Klor as CEO. Klor brings more than 20 years of leadership experience, including as COO of Broadway Malyan. She steps into the role at a defining moment in the firm’s history, as its London studio transforms into the global headquarters for a network of nine international offices.
Kaitlyn Thornton, formerly of Yabu Pushelberg and HBA, has launched Plotwork, a new advisory and agency guiding projects from concept through guest experience. Among its first commissions is the development of a Saudi-born lifestyle hotel brand with Al Rabih Real Estate Development.
Phil Andreopoulos has been named CEO of UK-based YOTEL. The former Marriott executive steps into the role as YOTEL’s majority shareholder Al-Bahar Group expands its stake in the brand to more than 95 percent.
Starwood Hotels has appointed Gonzalo Bustamante senior vice president of design. Bustamante, previously EVP of design and development at MGM Resorts International, brings two decades of experience, including oversight of the $10 billion MGM Japan project in Osaka.
Omni Hotels & Resorts has promoted Laura Trussel McKoy to chief creative officer. Since joining the company in 2007, she has helped shape the brand’s design identity and founded the Omni Hotels & Resorts Design Studio.
Lissoni Architecture New York is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Led by Stefano Giussani under the creative direction of Piero Lissoni, the studio has delivered award-winning projects, including the AKA Hotel Nomad in Manhattan and the Ritz-Carlton in Miami, and has new work underway in Austin, San Francisco, and Mexico.
