On the Daintree Coast of Tropical North Queensland, where the world’s oldest surviving rainforest meets the largest coral reef system on earth, a new retreat is preparing to welcome its first guests this November.
Ever Bloomfield, positioned within reach of two UNESCO World Heritage environments, offers a 14-key stay accessible only by boat or helicopter.

Design rooted in place
Designed by Australia-based Wolveridge Architects, the property was conceived to dissolve the boundary between built form and the surrounding landscape.
Interiors by Jacqui Dunn Interiors reinforce that intention. Suites are constructed from local timber and stone, with a color palette drawn directly from Daintree foliage. Artwork and accessories by local Indigenous and Daintree artists appear throughout, lending each space a specificity that reads as immersive rather than decorative. The result is a deep sense of place, felt from the moment of arrival.
Communal spaces with character
The property’s shared spaces include the Long Room, where breakfast and lunch unfold in a light-filled setting framed by uninterrupted rainforest views. By dinner, the atmosphere shifts to something more evocative: candlelit and unhurried, with artifacts drawn from Bloomfield and Daintree history.
The Pool Lounge is made for easy afternoons, while the Speak Easy—intimate, theatrical, and deliberately removed from the world outside—invites lingering over dark amber light, a game of pool, slow-sipped drinks, and good conversation.
The expedition programming at Ever Bloomfield
Beyond the architecture, the guest experience is anchored by an expedition program that harnesses the property’s geography. A full-day Great Barrier Reef Safari carries guests by custom vessel across the Coral Sea to Cedar Bay, East and West Hope Islands, and Pickersgill Reef, combining snorkeling with citizen science and a chef-prepared lunch. The Daintree Rainforest UTV Adventure moves through the rainforest, open savannah, and birdlife-rich paperbark forest by guided side-by-side. And the CREB Track and Roaring Meg Falls Journey, one of Far North Queensland’s great remote drives, concludes with a smoking ceremony with Traditional Owners, a forest walk to the falls, lunch at an outdoor rainforest kitchen, and an afternoon of creek swims.
