Grand Brasserie has debuted inside Manhattan’s Grand Central Terminal, bringing a timeless French dining experience to the historic Vanderbilt Hall.
Designed by Rockwell Group, Grand Brasserie blends the hall’s early-20th-century architecture with fresh, contemporary elements.
The 300-seat main dining room and 100-seat Green Room feature rich leather banquettes, a grand marble bar, and custom lighting that strikes a balance between intimacy with grandeur.
“Vanderbilt Hall was once the main waiting room for intercity travelers at Grand Central, and I was inspired by this idea of returning to the space to a community gathering place in the heart of Manhattan, where busy commuters might pause for a delicious cocktail or bite to eat,” says David Rockwell, founder and president of Rockwell Group.
“It was an honor to work within the landmarked room and draw on its Beaux-Arts language for a contemporary, elevated experience,” he adds.
