Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ newest ship, the Seven Seas Explorer, recently gained a new dining option in Chartreuse, a Parisian-style eatery featuring traditional French fare with a twist.
The restaurant is the second of three planned distinct specialty restaurants aboard the Seven Seas Explorer; the ship’s signature steakhouse, Prime 7, was the first to be announced. Forthcoming details regarding the third restaurant will be released in June.
“A luxury cruise experience is incomplete without gourmet dining,” says Jason Montague, president and COO for Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “With our sights set on building the world’s most luxurious ship, we challenged our design and culinary teams to develop some extraordinary and exquisite dining options for our guests aboard the Seven Seas Explorer.”
Design team ICRAVE crafted the concept with French details and modern touches. In homage to the Eiffel Tower, decorative iron sculpting is prominent throughout the bar. A curved, paneled entryway and flooring designed to imitate a cobblestoned street mimic a Parisian eatery. Details such as a silver-leafed ceiling interspersed with gold-bordered, black-lacquered lines add to the motif, while the restaurant’s backend transitions from a dining room to a Parisian courtyard for an al fresco dining experience.
The restaurant’s name is derived from the chartreuse-colored glass panels adorning the dining room walls. The bar area has marble mosaic tiled flooring and features contemporary lounge chairs, embossed leather stools, and granite-topped tables. Floor-to-ceiling windows separated by metal filigree screens provide ocean views.
Seven Seas Explorer is set to join Regent’s Seven Seas Cruises fleet in the summer of 2016.
