Morgans Hotel Group has launched a 140-seat restaurant, La Savina Mediterranean Grill, at Mondrian South Beach. Inspired by Spain’s Formentera island, La Savina brings a bohemian sensibility to South Beach.
Morgans’ corporate executive chef Tien Ho will lead the restaurant. La Savina specializes in char-grilled meats and fish prepared in the classic “a la parilla” style that is the staple of coastal Mediterranean cooking.
Morgans Hotel Group’s design team, Tony Machado and DeVinn Bruce, were inspired by the style and relaxed interiors of Formentera beach homes. The indoor-outdoor restaurant boosts a garden overlooking Biscayne Bay with multiple seating options filled with oversized planters, rattan lampshades, beachwood tabletops, and lantern lighting. The interior dining room brings the beachwood and bohemian energy inside with concrete colored walls and reclaimed wood throughout the space.
