Spanish pizza concept chain Piur has launched its maiden outpost in Valencia within the city’s bustling Central Market. Spread across nearly 5,400 square feet, the new concept is designed by locally based firm Masquespacio with an emphasis on the history of the building.
Natural materials like wood and terracotta tiles line the restaurant to reflect the studio’s organic aspirations, while notes of red accent the earthen palette while reinforcing the cuisine. “For Piur’s Valencia location, not only one of the most relevant examples of Art Nouveau in Valencia was chosen, but also the best place to find high-quality natural products,” says Ana Milena Hernández Palacios, creative director at Masquespacio. “We drew our inspiration from the details of the iconic Central Market building, such as its emblematic ornaments that can now be recognized through the wide variety of lights that create personalized corners inside.”
