The new, inviting F&B spot Porta Via, Pacific Palisades has debuted in Los Angeles by locally based interior designer Sophie Goineau, who evoked a localized sense of luxury inside the space, while echoing the restaurant’s predecessor in Beverly Hills. “The connotation of the organic bistro, farm-to-table food, and coastal culture of the Pacific Palisades, as well as the East Coast spots like Hamptons and Maine I visited growing up, gave me the direction for the design approach,” says
The interiors of the elegant and sexy eatery feature antique brass finishes, chevron wall panelings, and wooden ceiling fans in reference to midcentury-style sophistication. The skylight infuses a right amount of California sun into the venue, while the black and white stripes span the floors, creating a dialogue between interior and exterior sections.
Ample botanical greenery and high-gloss wainscoting adorn the restaurant’s pastel-hued walls, in addition to the commissioned art pieces. European influences also abound across the interior in the form of custom park benches and bespoke barstools, wrapped in pink leather for a dash of romance.”
