SUSHISAMBA Las Vegas has expanded its footprint in the Venetian Resort Las Vegas with the launch of the new Tree Bar & Lounge. The restaurant partnered with its original designer, New York-based firm ICRAVE, to craft the immersive new atmosphere, which echoes the Tree Bar at SUSHISAMBA London through a unique and more intimate lens.
“The idea for the space really came from trying to transport people to another place,” ICRAVE director Greg Merkel says. “We envisioned this shell—like an egg or geode—that we would split just enough to see inside and get a horizontal cinematic view of the beautiful space within.”
Reminiscent of an ancient banyan tree, a wooden shell exterior punctuates the arrival experience as guests enter the luminous space canopied by glowing orange leaf. “We wanted it to read like a freestanding object—a rich, wooden exterior from the outside,” Merkel adds, “and then for the inside to be this warm, inviting, and soft space.”
Warm leather furniture recalls Brazil’s midcentury modern movement against a backdrop of textured stones, tropical wood, and custom light fixtures. The 1,500-square foot bar and lounge is anchored by a theatrical125-long curved bar as well.
