The Estates at Acqualina, part of the 5-Star Acqualina Resort & Spa in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, has revealed plans to install the amenities hub Villa Acqualina. Slated for a 2020 debut, the 45,000-sqaure-foot structure will be crafted by New York-based firm Reddymade Architecture & Design. Fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld will be designing the lobby as part of his maiden interior design endeavor in the U.S.
Led by architect and designer Suchi Reddy, Villa Acqualina will offer a four-level complex named Circus Maximus, which will host a restaurant, cinema, bowling alley, golf and racing simulators, and an indoor ice rink. Circus Maximus will be anchored by a central, two-story disco designed with tiered seating, spiraling dance platforms, and video walls. Enveloped by glass, the venue will serve as a light installation during the day. A 30-foot-long onyx bar, an intimate wine and private dining room, a cigar room, and 5,000-square-foot private lounge will also open.
Informed by the minimalism of Japanese design, the Villa’s spa will feature olfactory modules and plunge pools set against sunlit blue onyx walls. Floors will be covered in salt and raked like a Zen garden, while walls will boast white salt bricks. The 6,000-square-foot fitness center will feature a graphic living wall and framed ocean views. Yoga and spin rooms will be installed as well.
Reddymade will also design 10 beachside cabanas for the property. Ranging from 300 to 500 square feet, the cabanas will include warm, whitewash floors, antique wood walls, and marble countertops.
