Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown, located in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood, has introduced six suites designed by late interior architect Bill Rooney and his team at Bill Rooney Studio. The suites capture the essence of a luxurious Tribeca home and pay homage to the area’s spirit and craftsmanship.
In a conversation about the design of the new accommodations, Rooney said that “differentiation is not just a name or one design element—it is a story and orchestration of elements that resonates with every guest with whom we engage. Our design vision for these suites adds to and comfortably contrasts the existing serene interior architecture. The intimate aesthetic, which is more like a residence, is influenced by the Tribeca art scene; confident fashion; and the forward-looking, bold spirit, and vibrancy of New York City.”
The design intention of the project—one of Rooney’s last prior to passing away in August—was to elevate every touchpoint. The interiors blend classic and contemporary elements and showcase midcentury-modern pieces from renowned designers.
Plus, a modern art collection curated by Shashi Caudill features works like Nan Godlin’s View By Night By My Window and William Helburn’s Dovima Under the El. The Metropolis and Tribeca suites also offer classic record players with extensive collections of iconic New York musicians.
