Cachet Hotel Group has completed renovations of Shanghai’s eco-boutique hotel, URBN Hotel.
Under the creative direction of CHG’s celebrity fashion designer, Jay Godfrey, the new interiors offer a modernist Zen experience. A soothing neutral color palette has been adopted throughout the hotel, which also enhances the natural beauty of the recycled and reclaimed wood materials. All guestrooms have been upgraded with new Mayair Technology air purification systems and the property now features a fitness center called URBNfit.
Redesigned guestrooms will feature URBN’s signature Renewal bed, made from 100 percent natural materials, including cactus fiber, seaweed, and coconut fiber. Light fixtures with eco-friendly origins provide sleek and sensual lines. The use of silk and velvet in the hotel’s draperies and upholstery lends a minimalist yet elegant design.
The renovated URBN Shanghai will also feature a signature Jay Godfrey designer suite. This suite features black lacquer finishes throughout, modern artwork, Tom Dixon pendant lights, and an indoor-outdoor terrace that overlooks the hotel’s courtyard space.
The property has also unveiled a newly built entrance, which boasts an oversized stainless steel sculptural ball. URBN partnered with Art+, a leading art gallery in Shanghai, to display a selection of works by established and emerging contemporary artists throughout the hotel and penthouses.
This October, URBN will also introduce a new restaurant and bar called the BeerGRDN. Occupying the ground floor and the outdoor courtyard, the new BeerGRDN will be a casual dining and social venue focused on Italian and American flavors with a contemporary twist.
