Edyn has revealed plans to continue its European expansion with the acquisition and redevelopment of the Hotel Ascot in Zurich. Upon reopening in summer 2023, the 40,000-square-foot property in the city’s Enge neighborhood will mark the hospitality company’s arrival in Switzerland and the latest entry in the portfolio of its lifestyle aparthotel brand Locke.
“We are excited to bring the Locke brand to Switzerland, as we continue our expansion across Europe,” says edyn CEO Stephen McCall. “Zurich is a vibrant and culturally rich international hub, and the new location will fit in well with the city’s diverse and cosmopolitan community. We also look forward to continuing the spirit of elegance and creativity the Hotel Ascot site has become known for since it was built in 1954.”
London-based design studio Sella Concept will transform the six-floor hotel into a versatile urban destination that reflects the sophisticated cultural identity of the locale.
A mix of studio and one-bedroom suites will be featured among the hybrid hospitality concept’s 80 accommodations, while a restaurant, bar, and coffee shop will round out the onsite amenities.
