ELLE Hospitality has inaugurated its maiden hotel in Paris. The elegant and intimate 25-room Maison ELLE was crafted by Parisian design duo Laurent & Laurence to embody the French art de vivre that’s been captured in the pages of ELLE magazine for decades. “Our goal for the boutique property was to evoke a residential and stylish French feel to the address and ensure our guests feel like they’re in the home of a close Parisian friend,” says ELLE International CEO Constance Benqué.
The lively ground floor lounge was designed with a laidback sensibility and features armchairs and a stately dining-kitchen bedecked with mirrored shelves and anchored by a long white marble table. Oak parquet floors and velvet furnishings also imbue warmth. A spa—comprising a treatment room, steam room, sauna, and yoga studio—rounds out the onsite amenities.
To instill brand identity throughout public and private spaces, Maison ELLE is furnished with an array of pieces pooled from ELLE’s archives. “We were keen to ensure that every last design detail at Maison ELLE was imbued with the brand’s values and decided that the best way of going about it was to glean inspiration from ELLE magazine’s back catalog,” Benqué adds. “The end result is a collection of 70 original pieces of artwork—from sketches to drawings and ELLE magazine front cover collages—scattered throughout the hotel that serves as the hallmark of the interior design.”
Guestrooms and suites are endowed with a variety of fabrics inspired by the fashion world, ranging from tweed and denim to gabardines and flannel. Brass fixtures and wall lamps infuse a golden effect across each chamber, reminiscent of a contemporary domestic library, while herringbone parquet floors further evoke a residential flair.
