Minor Hotels has announced plans to expand its portfolio with the launch of a new property in Qatar. NH Collection Doha Oasis Hotel & Beach Club will occupy the former Oasis Hotel, which opened as the destination’s first hotel during the 1950s. The transformed retreat, and the brand’s first international outpost with a beach club, will debut in mid-2022 spread across a stretch of eastern shoreline in Doha’s Ras Abu Abboud.
“We are pleased to announce this upcoming addition to our portfolio in Qatar. Minor Hotels already has a strong presence in the country across multiple brands and we are excited to be partnering with the Darwish Family to add this NH Collection hotel and beach club into the mix, bringing an alternative offering to our customers,” says Dillip Rajakarier, group CEO of Minor International and CEO of Minor Hotels. “2022 will be one of the most important years in Qatar’s history, with all eyes on the country for the FIFA World Cup, and we are delighted to be launching another great property in Doha at such an exciting time.”
In addition to the beach club, the forthcoming hotel will host a pool surrounded by lush gardens, tennis courts, and men’s and women’s spa and fitness facilities. Two specialty restaurants and a rooftop bar will be highlighted among six onsite F&B options, while a large ballroom will be halved with a mezzanine level comprising meeting rooms, a business center, and supporting conference areas as well. A mix of superior and deluxe rooms and more than 50 suites will span the hotel’s 300 guestrooms, which will each balance modern and classical elements.
