Rosewood Hotel Georgia, downtown Vancouver’s iconic luxury retreat, has reopened after extensive renovations of its public spaces and guestrooms.
Locally based Ste. Marie Studio led the redesign of the public spaces, including the lobby and dining concepts.
Drawing on the opulence of the Roaring Twenties, the lobby fuses the vibrancy of the era with a modern sense of place. Moody marbles and plush green velvets balance contemporary touches and bright textiles that lead into the 1927 Lounge, which celebrates Vancouver’s diverse neighborhoods.
The Georgia Bar, a new mixology-centric concept, embodies the spirit of the gilded Art Deco period. A striking u-shaped marble bar sits against mahogany-paneled walls and checkerboard floors, married with crushed velvets, rich leather seating, crystal fixtures, and an eclectic art collection.
Additional dining options include underground cocktail bar Prophecy and Reflections Terrace, a biophilic space inspired by the city’s lush landscapes.
Guestrooms at Rosewood Hotel Georgia
New York’s Lillian Wu Studio reimagined Rosewood Hotel Georgia’s 156 guestrooms (including 22 suites) as refined, sensorial retreats.
Details like leather-wrapped accessories, tufted headboards, and horn handles with bronze patina holders enhance the experience, while hand-blown glass fixtures yield subtle sophistication.
The accommodations’ calming color palette, patterned furnishings, and jewel-toned accents are complemented by silver leaf-painted glass reflecting the Pacific Dogwood, British Columbia’s official flower, alongside curated artwork that highlights local culture.
