Lifestyle and experiential hospitality brand Selina has unveiled its latest outpost in Washington, DC. Selina Union Market serves as the brand’s U.S. flagship and grows the company’s footprint to more than 155 open and secured units. A modern industrial design scheme, developed by Selina’s in-house team in partnership with Revive Interiors, accentuates the site’s history as a seed factory and antique shop.
“With such a unique history, we used specific color palettes, furniture, materials, and other interior design elements to pay homage to the past, while still incorporating our modern applications and Selina amenities,” says Ariel Levinsohn, vice president of global brands and creative for Selina. “The hotel’s open layout design, emphasis on public spaces, and carefully selected décor and art are conscientious decisions meant to curate a place where conversations, creativity, and engagement thrive—fostering the essence of what DC’s culture is known for.”
The inviting atmosphere is characterized by an artistic, outdoorsy flair amplified via upcycled furniture and earth tones. Modern artwork—including a four-story custom mural by Stencil Network and Sergio Stuff—also adorns the property. Open coworking spaces and private meeting rooms abound along with an all-day restaurant, four rentable artist studios, a cinema room, common kitchen, and wellness studio.
To further reinforce a sense of place, Selina Union Market will partner with local brands to enliven the concept with pop-up F&B options, wellness classes, workshops, and more. Suites, standard rooms, micro bedrooms, and shared accommodations span the 106 onsite rooms.
