Located on Nybroviken Quay in the heart of Stockholm’s commercial and entertainment district, the Bank Hotel has opened within an extravagant, Art Deco-style structure designed by Thor Thorén.
Bronze doors lead visitors to the lobby, which channels the history of the building with checkered marble floors and walls clad in rich mahogany. A custom Venetian chandelier provides illumination along with floor-to-ceiling windows. Historical details punctuate all nine floors, which are also endowed with a contemporary aesthetic. Plush furnishings and contemporary Swedish artwork also line the interior. In addition to the 94-seat restaurant Bonnie’s, which boasts soaring glass ceilings and emerald booths, F&B outlets include the all-day lounge Sophie’s Bar, the double-terraced Rooftop and Chambre Separé and the Papillion Bar, which draws inspiration from the personal office of the original bank director.
Swedish designers Ida Lauga and Lo Biurlf crafted the aesthetic for all 115 guestrooms and suites. Integrating the hotel’s historic charm with a contemporary aesthetic, each room includes classic touches alongside natural textures of stone, wood and neutral shades. Marble and bronze are featured in each bathroom for a dash of opulence. The nearly 2,000-square-foot Bank Extreme Terrace suite is outfitted with lofty ceilings and a sheltered, wraparound balcony.
