Following an extensive renovation by interior design firm P49 Deesign and Corail Architecture, the Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa has emerged with the largest collection of overwater bungalows on the French Polynesian island.
Situated at the base of Mount Otemanu, the resort features 128 overwater bungalows, with 14 family-friendly accommodations. Many include private plunge pools, and all offer expansive views of the lagoon, island, or mountain.
The property boasts the largest pool in Bora Bora—an infinity pool flanked by six beach-facing cabanas, a swim-up bar, and a cascading waterfall from the second floor—along with a private lagoon, various culinary options, and wellness offerings inspired by local traditions.
The resort’s commitment to environmental stewardship is evident through its Eco Center Bora Bora, which focuses on the conservation of sea turtles, sustainable management of ecology in French Polynesia, and education through immersive experiences.
The Westin Bora Bora’s natural design
The design of the Westin Bora Bora marries contemporary luxury with the island’s natural beauty.
Inspired by traditional Polynesian forms, its architecture reinterprets these elements with modern, clean lines, large openings, and the use of natural materials to create a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Inside, natural materials—like wood and stone—are paired with a soothing color palette of beige, cream, and soft gray that reflect the hues of white sand beaches and coral. Meanwhile, blue accents punctuate the design with focal points that recall the ocean and sky over Bora Bora.
