Design-driven lifestyle brand TRIBE has unveiled TRIBE Bali Kuta Beach, its first hotel in Indonesia. The new property, which is part of Ennismore, draws upon the region’s cultural hallmarks through a design by PT. Metaphor Indonesia that adopts lines and colorways that are distinctly Balinese. “We take inspiration from cultural and lifestyle features such as dances, clothing, and also religion,” says Alice Samadi, a marketing executive for Metaphor who affirms the hotel as a “perfect union of Tribe’s urban character with resort ambiance while still enhancing the modern Balinese culture.”
Knots and weaving that distinguishes traditional Kebaya Batik Kamben cloth is referenced across sinewy forms throughout the interior. Abundant rattan sustainably reinforces nature and offsets vibrant notes of color also inspired by the setting. Details like brass accents infuse modernity alongside the locally sourced materiality as well.
A cozy and stylish coffee shop by day and a bar by night, the hotel’s ground floor concept is installed alongside a grab-and-go option, while Afterglow, a rooftop restaurant and bar, crowns the property overlooking views of the onsite infinity pool. The lobby and rooftop are also home to flexible coworking spaces that foster openness to both travelers and locals. A 24-hour fitness center and a slew of meeting and event facilities round out the public spaces.
The hotel’s 165 smart rooms vary across six configurations that are each clad with floor-to-ceiling windows and ample storage.
