Firmdale Hotels has opened the doors to its third New York property: Warren Street Hotel.
The new hotel, located in downtown Tribeca, joins the UK brand’s Manhattan outposts in SoHo (Crosby Street) and midtown (the Whitby).
With interiors by Kit Kemp Design Studio and architecture by Stonehill Taylor, Warren Street is characterized by Kemp’s signature bright, bold aesthetic. The design draws inspiration from the neighborhood’s history as a 19th-century textiles hub, and features various fabrics designed by Kemp herself (including her new collection with GP&J Baker).
Each of Warren Street’s 69 rooms, suites, and residences emphasize color, pattern, and texture. The spaces unfold like a jewel—with embellished headboards, upholstered furniture, and whimsical lighting and tableware.
Several suites feature landscaped terraces and gardens created by Brook Landscape. The areas include illuminated wooden trellises adorned with ferns, cedars, and pollinating plants that attract wildlife.
Hotel public spaces are defined by a warm, art-filled concept. Interiors are rounded out by a diverse and generous range of art—many exclusive to the hotel—including pieces by sculptors Tony Cragg and Wendell Castle. Kemp’s own Tall Trees collection, a fine bone china tableware for Spode, is used in the restaurant, and its fairytale pattern is also found in the guestrooms.
The Warren Street Bar & Restaurant, meanwhile, is a modern brasserie holds true to the property’s eclectic style. Large artworks line the walls and lead guests to the Orangery, which features handmade ceramic pots and a whimsical collection of pieces by British artisans.
“We sought out and commissioned our favorite artists and sculptors to create original pieces, and curated the very best from our own collections dreamt up in our design studio to fashion a very individual ambience that feels exciting and exclusive to our third New York hotel,” says Kemp.
