Wellness concept TROVE will launch its first location this month in Toronto, providing an oasis away from the city’s hustle and bustle through holistic wellness services and experiences.
Venturing from successful careers commercial real estate and law, TROVE founders Tanya Kololian and Zoë Paliare made the decision to launch a wellness business because of their personal experiences with burnout.
“One thing wellness isn’t meant to be is complicated,” says Paliare, cofounder and president of TROVE. “As avid users of wellness services, we understand the need for an offering that takes the stress, time, and over-planning out of the thing that’s meant to bring you peace: self-care. That is why we are so excited to open the doors to TROVE.”
Crafting a serene retreat
Designed by Ali McQuaid Mitchell of locally based Future Studio, the space envelops guests in a sense of serenity with every corner thoughtfully crafted as a tranquil escape.
Upon entry, guests are greeted in a cozy reception area where “conventional receptionist and patient boundaries are dissolved,” says McQuaid Mitchell. “No formal reception desk, no line up. You are invited to have a seat at a table with an organic, welcoming form. An incense is burning. A shift occurs. A breath is taken.”
Throughout the interiors, a muted color palette serves as the canvas for organic forms and natural materials including cedar wood, walnut, natural green stones, limestone flagstone tile, and green textured walls.
Wellness amenities at TROVE
The wellness concept features a private sauna, ice bath room, salt cave, a candlelit meditation room, an IV lounge, and a communal radial seating area that surrounds “two vapor fireplace systems [that] provide the impression of a fully suspended fireplace,” McQuaid Mitchell explains.
In place of traditional partitions, semi-transparent ceiling-height drapery and internally lit LED walls create a dynamic flow between each space.
