The Lake Como EDITION To Open on Italy’s Iconic Shoreline

Neri&Hu and De.Tales transform a 19th-century palazzo into a 148-key retreat that captures classical Italian elegance

Slated to debut March 2026, the Lake Como EDITION reimagines a heritage hotel in Cadenabbia (a small community in Lombardy) that dates back to 1830.

Designed by EDITION creative directors Kirstin Bailey and Paul Haslhofer in collaboration with Neri&Hu and De.Tales, the project introduces a new chapter to a destination long associated with extended villeggiatura and classical Italian splendor.

Arriving at the Lake Como EDITION

The 19th-century palazzo—originally known as the London—retains its cream, butter, and clay exterior. The arrival is marked by a dramatic cantilevered teak wood entrance surrounded by a vertical garden of wisteria, clematis, and climbing roses.

Inside, white Palomba stone terrazzo floors frame a sculptural marble staircase inspired by Italian architect Carlo Scarpa, while polished brass elevators sit beside a reflection pool and fountain.

F&B by three-Michelin-starred chef Mauro Colagreco

Communal spaces unfold toward the lake, beginning with signature restaurant Cetino by three-Michelin-starred chef Mauro Colagreco, where a jardin d’hiver terrace overlooks the water. Walls in rich rose-colored Dolomite plaster are layered with tapestries, antique mirrors, and modern artworks.

Throughout the ground floor, floor-to-ceiling glass walls capture panoramic views. A walnut-paneled private meeting room and lounge faces Bellagio, while the upstairs terrace restaurant, Renzo, offers all-day dining amid Mediterranean herbs and citrus trees.

Opposite the meeting room, the Lobby Bar features a 16-foot-high coffered ceiling and a celadon green Sekoya marble bar. Hand-painted landscapes by Costanza Alvarez de Castro fill original plaster molding frames, joined by a Steinway baby grand piano, billiard table, and carved Palomba stone fireplace.

Serenity in the guestrooms

The hotel comprises 148 guestrooms, including 25 suites and two penthouses. Custom furnishings include a walnut bed and headboard above a pale blue hand-tufted rug, a bespoke Calacatta marble coffee table, and a curved sofa by Neri&Hu.

Each room features Calacatta Turquoise marble archways and baseboards, with bathrooms clad in gold stone marble and fluted glass doors in polished brass frames. Lakeside rooms preserve the original French balconies.

The Longevity SPA at the Lake Como EDITION

The property also introduces the second Longevity SPA in Italy, offering biohacking treatments alongside an indoor thermal pool with floor-to-ceiling glazing, wood-paneled walls, and dark stone finishes oriented toward the lake.

The spa’s rotunda also houses a herbal sauna, Turkish bath, plunge pools, and seven treatment rooms. A connected gym with Technogym equipment and two meeting studios further supports wellness retreats and creative gatherings.
