The Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel is partnering with Tozour Energy Systems to reduce energy usage and costs. Tozour will identify energy-saving opportunities throughout the property during an in-depth energy audit, including new energy-efficient HVAC equipment, elimination of unnecessary lighting, and changing system start times.
Once the energy saving measures are implemented, the environmental impact of this project will be equivalent to 2,610 trees planted or 148 cars removed from daily use on Atlantic City’s roads. The initiative is scheduled to be complete in early 2010.
The energy reduction undertaking will be part of the New Jersey Clean Energy Program’s Pay for Performance plan, which offers incentives to eligible commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings to carry out energy reduction projects. Upon completion of specific energy reduction benchmarks, the Sheraton Atlantic City will earn monetary incentives for helping to reduce the building’s impact on the environment.
