Two projects within Las Vegas’s CityCenter development are the first to attain LEED Gold certification: Aria and Vdara. Designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli, Aria is a 4,004-room resort that’s at the core of the 18-million-square-foot CityCenter development. The Rafael Vinoly-designed Vdara is a non-gaming, non-smoking all-suite hotel.
CityCenter recently outlined its ambitious sustainability efforts, such as an 8.5 megawatt natural gas co-generation plant, the use of reclaimed water for dust control, and the diversion of nearly all construction waste from the landfills.
