Tao Group Hospitality has unveiled a sweeping reinvention of the 6,000-square-foot dining destination above Edge at Hudson Yards in New York.

Developed in partnership with global design and innovation agency Journey, both the Peak with Priceless restaurant and Avenue Sky Lounge reinterpret Manhattan’s Art Deco architectural heritage through spaces that feel, at once, timeless and contemporary.

Avenue Sky Lounge—an iconic name, reimagined

A centerpiece of the project is the return of Avenue. The original lounge operated in West Chelsea for a decade before closing during the pandemic, and its revival—positioned 1,100 feet above the city—represents a significant reinvention of the concept. The new Avenue Sky Lounge is crafted as a sophisticated cocktail lounge and private event venue, with a cocktail program inspired by New York City itself.

“At the heart of this transformation is the return of Avenue,” says Noah Tepperberg, co-CEO of Tao Group Hospitality. “Bringing Avenue back to New York is deeply personal for us. It’s a brand that has always represented the best of what we do, and reimagining it 1,100 feet above Manhattan felt like the only way to do it justice.”

Designed for flexibility, the space moves fluidly between time of day, occasion, and party size, accommodating up to 170 guests across lounge, cocktail, and private event configurations. A statement bar anchors the room, while the material palette—warm lacquered woods, soft suedes, and upholstered ceiling and wall paneling—grounds the geometric forms and architectural arches characteristic of Art Deco.

A refreshed Peak with Priceless

The redesign extends to Peak with Priceless, the restaurant occupying the pinnacle of Hudson Yards. Here, the Journey design team took a deliberate counterpoint approach, setting intimate, warm interiors against the sharp geometry of the Art Deco skyscrapers visible through floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

Rich lacquered wood finishes anchor the space, which is layered with velvet drapery and custom upholstered banquettes that evoke old-school luxury. A palette of deep tones accented with blue and grey draws a direct visual connection to the Manhattan skyline beyond.

The dining room layout is also equally intentional: every seat and sightline has been carefully choreographed to ensure vistas from any vantage point in the room.
