Private members club the Ned has announced the forthcoming Ned’s Club Washington, DC, slated to debut this winter.
The brand’s fourth and newest location is inspired by the glamour of the Roaring Twenties and neoclassical designs, paying tribute to the club’s location at the intersection of two historic properties: The 12-story Walker Building and an old bank building.
A walk through Ned’s Club Washington, DC
Nestled within President’s Park, with views of the Treasury Building and White House, Ned’s Club Washington, DC will be crafted with a globally influenced design by Soho House Design and Stonehill Taylor.
Inside both work and leisure spaces, art and history will converge. Custom mosaic designs lining the floor will be complemented by a palette of vibrant gold, blue, and green.
By day, the Library is a calm refuge with furnishings and a classic fireplace that echo the sophisticated elegance of bygone eras. At night, it transforms into a vibrant social space with an elegant bar.
In the Drawing Room, stained-glass fixtures and rich wooden accents create an ambiance akin to the sun-drenched dining settings of the Kennedy years.
The Conservatory welcomes members into an indoor space filled with greenery and natural aesthetics. Perched at the pinnacle, the Loft restaurant and rooftop terrace are adorned with bespoke mosaics that pay homage to the historical Walker Building.
Meanwhile, the 10th floor stands as a tribute to former US presidents, with each room reflecting the unique styles of their eras.
Ned’s Club Washington, DC will exhibit also two permanent art collections.
The first will offer a pointed look at gender imbalance in the American political landscape, comprising a collection representing 46 American women artists. The second collection champions local artists, displaying the work of those who are born, based, or trained in the DC area.
