Hospitality Design magazine is honored to announce its 2024 Designer of the Year and Hotel Company of the Year as part of the 20th annual HD Awards program. This year’s recipients continue to elevate the industry by bringing new perspectives to hospitality with groundbreaking and beautiful creations.
Designer of the Year: Nicole Hollis
Nicole Hollis will be awarded as the 2024 Designer of the Year. At the helm of her eponymous San Francisco-based firm since 2002, Hollis is the visionary behind such recent notable hospitality properties as the 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay and Kona Village, a Rosewood Resort, both in Hawaii. With nature as a guide, Hollis’ understated approach is rooted in luxury, mixing a refined aesthetic with craftsmanship and a meticulous eye for detail and imbuing each of her projects with an inviting sense of place.
Hotel Company of the Year: Standard International
Standard International, led by CEO Amber Asher, has been named the 2024 Hotel Company of the Year, recognized for its robust portfolio of lifestyle hotels under the Standard Hotels, Bunkhouse, and Peri Hotels brands. After more than 13 years with the company, Asher (who worked at the Standard as general counsel and president before being named CEO in 2021) and her team have evolved the Standard hotels from a sexy, provocative U.S. brand to a global powerhouse with properties in London, Bangkok, Ibiza, Hua Hin, and the Maldives, with Singapore, Brussels, Lisbon, Dublin, and Mexico to follow. Debuting this summer, Standard International will enter Melbourne with the launch of accessible lifestyle brand the StandardX.
The 20th annual HD Awards ceremony will be held on April 30th at the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas during HD Expo + Conference. (Register today!)
