Architecture firm SB Architects has announced the appointment of Richard Collings to the role of vice president. Bringing forth more than two decades of experience, Collings will spearhead expanded design capabilities, business development, and foster new client relationships at the firm’s recently opened London office. Collings’ efforts will also play an integral role in SB’s strategic growth in the Middle East, the Mediterranean, and Africa.
“Richard’s leadership skills and dedication to ensuring the design process is collaborative with clients will strengthen SB Architects in our path forward, and we look forward to delivering more inspiring and impactful properties alongside him,” says SB senior vice president and principal Mark Sopp. “We are excited to see the foundation that Richard will set for the London office, which will be fully integrated into our vision and practice as a firm.”
A graduate of the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London, Collings worked as a designer at architectural practice Jacobs Webber prior to joining WATG, where he spent much of his career—progressing from associate to associate vice president.
“I was drawn to SB Architects’ entrepreneurial atmosphere and collaborative culture and will instill that same ethos in the London office as we continue to grow,” Collings adds. “SB Architects structures itself and runs its projects with an equitable working environment that nurtures teamwork and communication. A place where ideas are supported, individual passions are celebrated, and work/life balance is a reality, not just a goal, SB Architects is evolving in the right direction.”
