Workspace, meeting, and event space concept Convene has announced plans to launch its first international location in London next month. Spread across 51,000 square feet and two floors of a new landmark at 22 Bishopsgate, the outpost will be crafted by Convene’s in-house team in partnership with architecture studio Woods Bagot to maximize flexibility. The locally inspired design will draw influence from London’s artisan communities to create a jumping off point for creativity. Framed archways and local artwork will introduce color and explore a contrast between decorative and contemporary sensibilities across the space.
“The concept for Convene at 22 Bishopsgate is ‘the Modern Livery,’” says Woods Bagot principal Peter O’Donnell. “Based on the ideas that liveries in London house artisans of different crafts and professions, Convene will be providing a platform for the creators and the innovators alike. Taking cues from the traditional architecture and the history of Bishopsgate, the detail and experience of liveries, and the modern cultural influence of Ben Eine, Convene’s space will reflect London and its juxtaposition of new and old, clean and decorative.”
“Convene at 22 Bishopsgate will be an incredible place to hold meaningful meetings and events, incorporating Convene’s legendary hospitality and award-winning design into an environment built for the modern workforce,” Convene CEO and cofounder Ryan Simonetti adds. “The way we meet and work has indelibly changed, and we are delighted to deliver a premium alternative for meetings and event planners, progressive businesses seeking flexibility and productivity, and workers seeking inspirational work experiences.”
