Wine bar Easy Company is the newest social hub to open at the Wharf in Washington, DC.
The space was crafted by locally based design studio //3877 to resemble an Italian piazza, complete with an indoor-outdoor layout and a sculptural centerpiece. “The architecture draws direct inspiration from piazzas, which center around a feature gathering place,” says //3877 interior designer Abby Eckard. “For Easy Company, the expansive bar is the heart of the space. The design takes a more contemporary approach on gathering spaces while maintaining the essence of these authentic piazzas.”
Warm wood finishes, natural patinas, and tousled textures await inside Easy Company, where the ritzy bar features a 34-foot marquee and a gantry spanning the length of the interior. High-top tables are set against a diverse gallery wall, flanking the main dining room. Custom floor tiling spells out messages as well, complemented by funky graphic wallcoverings that convey an irreverent whimsy. Rose, blue, and warm leather tones are balanced by neutral hues, while metal mesh and tiling layer Easy Company with texture. The alfresco Rose Garden is also attached.
