The sleek new restaurant and bar Soul Hollywood has arrived along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, introducing a modern interpretation of traditional Southern soul food signatures. Locally based architect George Kelly of Kelly Architects aimed for the cuisine to be reflected in the design by infusing glamor and warmth across the relaxed environment.
Hickory wood floors span the interior, which is also appointed with walnut tables and buttery paints to ensure a welcoming yet composed tone. Striking, sloping beams in the sharply detailed bar present an energy reminiscent of attic beams within an old timber building. All three levels are linked by a cantilvered staircase crafted from walnut, black steel, and exposed concrete. The upper level offers privacy, while the lower level’s exposed kitchen demonstrates the honesty of the chef-driven menu.
