The Alexander Hotel, a boutique property in Mexico City’s iconic Torre Virreyes skyscraper, has officially opened its doors.
Designed by architect Daniel Álvarez Fernández of Grupo Arquitectura in collaboration with Ambia Studio Interior Design, the hotel boasts a sleek, modern aesthetic across its 26 light-filled suites and luxury amenities, which include a spa, restaurant, gym, and bar.
The design concept elevates the guest experience via high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and the use of timeless materials. Calcite blue marble, for instance, exudes serene luxury, while ebony wood and leather introduce depth and sophistication.
“For a building to transcend,” says Álvarez Fernández, “it has to be mindful of the urban context in which it resides, and it must be well-constructed.”
Each suite reflects the distinguished spirit of the surrounding financial district of Lomas de Virreyes thanks to Italian furnishings and luxury tableware and glassware.
Ambia Studio Interior Design incorporated Mexican elements in earth tones and blue shades to add a sense of warmth that complements the sleekness of the hotel. Soft fabrics, rugs, natural woods, and leather accents further enhance the inviting ambiance, making guests feel at home.
Meanwhile, the Caviar Bar is an intimate space adorned with lavish Italian décor, where guests can enjoy culinary offerings by executive chef Ana Sophia Serrano.
Throughout the common spaces and suites, a photography collection curated by Nicole Badis showcases the essence of Mexican creativity, with black-and-white works from seven artists created between 1987 and 2023.
