AutoCamp has revealed a first look of its fifth property, AutoCamp Catskills, through a series of new renderings. The forthcoming property will be the glamping brand’s second East Coast location and is slated to debut in West Saugerties, New York in spring 2022. Designed by New York-based firm Workshop/APD, AutoCamp Catskills will draw inspiration from agrarian architectural traditions and the setting’s rich music history.
“This unique property offers visitors a sense of escape and exploration,” says Workshop/APD design director and associate Andrew Kline, “and we wanted to highlight every opportunity for guests to play, connect, and refresh onsite. This region’s unspoiled nature and thriving cultural scene provided endless inspiration to our team, and guided the selection of rustic, honest materials, and simple architectural forms, as well as the development of indoor and outdoor spaces for unique programming, gathering, and relaxation.”
A central Clubhouse will anchor the campus, crafted as a modern barn structure composed of two gabled masses with exposed post-and-beam interiors. Informed by historic Hudson Valley farms, the rustic indoor-outdoor communal hub will maximize the backdrop of an open clearing and promote comfort with eclectic vintage-style décor and bold, unconventional artwork. Included among the property’s 95 units will be 65 of AutoCamp’s custom 31-foot-long Airstream trailers as well as luxury tents, suites, and modern cabins.
