The Conrad Washington, DC has debuted in the nation’s capital at the threshold of the CityCenterDC on New York Avenue. Spread across 10 floors, the property is housed within a structure designed by Swiss architecture practice Herzog & de Meuron, while New York- and Houston-based firm Rottet Studio executed a restrained, minimalist interior design. Dallas-based design firm HKS also served on the project.
The hotel’s signature restaurant, Estuary, is led by James Beard Award recipients and brothers Michael and Bryan Voltaggio and features cuisine reflective of the their Maryland roots. The 10th floor is also home to the Sakura Club, an elevated and upscale destination for tea or cocktails, while the contemporary urban oasis Summit the Rooftop at Conrad crowns the property. More than 30 designer boutiques are showcased across the site’s 30,000 square feet of retail along the ground floor. Additionally, 32,000 square feet of versatile meeting space is featured onsite as well.
As part of Hilton’s commitment to double its social impact investment and cut its environmental footprint in half by 2030, the hotel has partnered with DC Central Kitchen on a culinary internship and training program. The property will also embed sustainability into its operations, integrating Hilton’s food waste training program into the kitchen culture and partnering with Clean the World to recycle soap from guestrooms, which will be remanufactured into new soap and distributed to communities in need around the world. All of these programs are part of Travel with Purpose, Hilton’s corporate responsibility strategy to redefine and advance sustainable travel globally.
