Millennium Hotels and Resorts’ lifestyle brand M Social has made its stateside debut with the 480-room M Social Times Square New York. Locally based Alessia Corpino Design was tapped to collaborate with the in-house team at Highgate Hotels to enliven the concept with a vivacious sense of place.
“The inspiration behind M Social in Time Square was to create a fun, vibrant, and contemporary space that feels residential,” Alessia Corpino says. “We wanted people to enjoy socializing again safely and energetically, both indoors and outdoors.”
An expansive sense of openness permeates throughout the interior to provide intimacy and a more human scale. Set against the colorful backdrop of Times Square’s views, the informal public areas are punctuated with eclectic artwork that accentuates the unique interior architecture.
More than 30 screens showcase a curated library of digital artwork in the 600-square-foot lobby as well. “We worked with amazingly talented artists who each gave their view of New York and New Yorkers,” Corpino adds. “The art at M Social leads guests hand-in-hand through a joyful story, written to bring new energy and the pleasure of being together again.”
Additionally, Beast & Butterflies, the hotel’s a vibrant bar and lounge, serves as a private oasis overlooking rarified vistas of Manhattan, and a 7,500-square-foot wraparound terrace is featured adjacent to an indoor glass perch.
